Post-Election Canvass Observers
California Elections Code states that post-election canvass operations shall be open to the public for observation. The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s office facilitates the observation of these activities by offering public tours of all canvass operations. The tour includes opportunities to view activities related to Vote by Mail (VBM) ballot processing, provisional ballot processing, signature verification and the tabulation of ballots. Upon completion of the tour, observers have the opportunity to return to and observe any of the operations included in the tour. Observers must be accompanied by an employee of the Registrar’s office at all times.
The Election Observer Panel Plan is available on Upcoming Elections. After Election Night, the scheduled of election results updates will be posted on the entrance door of the RR/CC headquarters and online.
