Notice of Certificate of Status Requirement

Certificate of Status Requirement (AB 1325)

Effective February 3, 2014, pursuant to Assembly Bill 1325 (enacted 1/1/14), if the Fictitious Business Name Statement registrant is a corporation, a limited liability company, or a limited liability partnership, the Los Angeles County Registrar/Recorder County Clerk’s Office will require an original certificate of Status issued by the Secretary of State certifying the current existence and good standing of that business entity and shall be attached to a completed affidavit of identity statement. (A current print out from the SOS may be deemed acceptable).

Please note that no additional fee will be charged.

This requirement has been made in accordance with the legislative amendment of Business and Professions Code section 17913.
