TDD Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

A text typewriter TDD is available to take calls from any citizen that is hard of hearing. The TDD number is (800) 815-2666 Option 2.

Audio Sample Ballot CD's

Audio sample ballots are recordings of the information printed in ballot pamphlets for State Propositions and County Measures for primary and general elections are available upon request before a major election. Please email requester’s contact info to jkeh@rrcc.lacounty.gov to request an audio sample ballot. To obtain audio recording of the state proposition, contact California Secretary of State or obtain a copy from RR/CC Election Information Section in Norwalk at (800) 815-2666, options 4 or from city and county libraries and the Braille Institute. The CD’s are available approximately four weeks before the election.

Early Voting Options

  • One-time Vote by Mail: Any registered voter may apply for a Vote by Mail Ballot (also called absentee ballot). Sample ballot pamphlets contain an application on the back cover. You may also write to: RR/CC, Vote by Mail, P.O. Box 30450, Los Angeles, CA 90030-0450 or Fax (562) 232-7924 or (877) 614-1127. If applying via letter, provide your home address and the address where the absentee ballot is to be sent. It is important to include your signature.
  • Permanent Vote by Mail: California State law provides that any voter may apply for permanent Vote by Mail status. Permanent Vote by Mail voters no longer have to apply for future elections. A ballot is automatically mailed for each election, no return postage is necessary. There are three easy ways to become a Permanent Vote by Mail voter:
  • Emergency Vote by Mail: If in the seven days prior to the election you find you are unable to vote in person on Election Day, you may still request a Vote by Mail (absentee) ballot. You must make a written request, signed under penalty of perjury, and deliver it to the RR/CC's office at 12400 Imperial Highway, Norwalk, CA 90650. Complete and return an Emergency Vote by Mail Application to our office.
  • Vote by Mail Drop Boxes: Vote by Mail drop boxes are a faster and convenient way to deliver your Vote by Mail ballot without having to stop into a Vote Center.


E-Sample Ballot

The E-Sample Ballot is an electronic version of your Sample Ballot that is accessible via email. Voters who subscribe will automatically receive an email containing a link to access their E-Sample Ballot 30 days prior to Election Day. To subscribe, go to: E-Sample Ballot.

Interactive Sample Ballot (ISB)

The Interactive Sample Ballot is an optional tool that allows voters to access, review and mark their selections prior to going to a Vote Center. The Interactive Sample Ballot is not online voting and does not store any identifiable information, once you access your Sample Ballot all your selections are saved on your phone, computer or personal device.
